About Jackie Treehorn
Jackie Treehorn is a funkadelic/soultastic/rockaphonic six-piece sound-storm based in Vancouver, BC.
With funky, upbeat original tunes that simmer up a retro flavour, the dance floor gets bumping when this beat bustin' troupe lays down their heavy grooves and sassy dance choreography. Known for their high energy live shows and phenomenal musicianship, Jackie Treehorn turns every venue into fun filled explosion of a party that rocks the body and mind. Featuring four vocalists, keytar, guitar, bass and drums, Jackie Treehorn is what the Georgia Straight called a "funk-soul demolition crew".
Jackie Treehorn has been gigging regularly since 2009, starting with regular weekly shows on Main St that honed their sound and gathered a following of devoted funkers. This current cast of players released their debut full-length album We Are Jackie Treehorn on June 25, 2011. Their first single, Cruel, was a Top 20 Finalist in the Shore 104.3 Song Search Competition. It's now on rotation at the CBC and other Canadian radio stations. They followed up this release with a highly successful B.C summer tour. Gathering new material and preparing for another season of touring, busking, and gigging, they continue spreading the gospel of JTH a little further each day. This year, they played an electrifying set on the David Lam Stage on Canada Day as a part of the TD Vancouver International Jazz Festival.
